halloween night (anna trevor)

‎2014, 35mm.

She stopped me in my tracks with her nuanced voice and captivating music as I walked by St. Mark's and 3rd Ave. I stayed, listening, listening, listening, in the chaotic cacaphony of the street. Her singing was the first evocative and emotional experience I ever had from music. I took this portrait (and did donate), and left with tears. It remains one of my favorite portraits.

In 2018, I examined the photo closer and, thankfully, saw written on the cardboard sign, #annatrevor. Please support Anna Trevor!
